According to the New York Post on July 12, police in St. Louis, Missouri, are looking for two teenage girls who made a joke that turned a fountain in front of City Hall into a “bubble bath” that required hundreds of dollars to be liquidated.

Local surveillance video shows two girls pouring laundry detergent into a fountain at Webster Groves City Hall during last week’s “Day of Self-reliance” parade, causing bubbles to appear like a “bubble bath.” Local media said the fountain was filled with foam about 10cm thick, and the foam sprayed off the top of the fountain, prompting many people to scoop up the foam and take photos.

Local city officials say they need special chemicals to stop the cleaning, and that cleaning the fountains costs taxpayers money. “We have to turn on and wet the fountains, which is a way to save water,” they say. Local police also said that this situation occurs at least three to four times a year, and they will make the joking people shoulder the obligation.
